ABOUT THE CENTER The Center for Civil and Human
Rights in Atlanta, scheduled to break ground in 2009, will commemorate
the contributions of Atlantans and Georgians to the historic struggle
for African-American freedom and equality, and also serve as a living
center for ongoing contributions to human rights struggles around the
world. The Center will be a space for ongoing dialogue, study and
contributions to the resolution of current and future freedom struggles
of all people at the local, national and international levels.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW In conjunction with the 60th
Anniversary of the proclamation of the Universal Declaration of Human
Rights (UDHR), adopted by the UN General Assembly on December 10, 1948,
The Center for Civil and Human Rights will sponsor a 10-day series of
events to raise awareness of the UDHR. As the founding document for the
modern human rights movement, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
continues to provide the basis for social movements and public actions
across the globe. The UDHR outlines the rights and freedoms that should
be shared by all people, in all places, at all times. The Center for
Civil and Human Rights is committed to educating individuals regarding
human rights topics nationally and internationally. Despite the impact
and significance of the UDHR, many people remain unaware of the history
of the document and the principles outlined within it. The Center for
Civil and Human Rights is committed to undertaking programs and events
to raise awareness of the UDHR, exploring human rights issues, and
affirming the dignity and worth of all people.
The UDHR says that all people
everywhere have the same human rights, which no one can take away. This
Declaration affirms the dignity and worth of all people, and the equal
rights of women and men. The Declaration is the basis of freedom,
justice and peace in the world, and the rights described are the common
standards for all people everywhere.
The events planned for 60 Years
of Progress…10 Days of Recognition will educate, inform, and engage
the public regarding the UDHR. The Center seeks to involve Atlanta's
diverse population by their participation in meaningful events that
address local, national and international human rights issues. Click here for a listing of events

About WineStyles
WineStyles, a national franchise demystifying the wine shopping
experience, makes it simple and easy to find that perfect bottle.
Designed like an old-world wine cellar, the store is organized by color
and style (whites – crisp, silky, rich and bubbly; reds – fruity,
mellow, bold and nectar), instead of varietals and regions. In
addition, each bottle is accompanied by a description listing the
wine’s characteristics, flavors and suggested food pairings,
simplifying the shopping experience. Each WineStyles carries 150
wines ranging from unique labels to hard-to-find wines from small and
large vineyards from around the world.
Moreover, all of the wines
are priced at $25 or below. WineStyles stores host wine tastings
two-to- three times a week to give customers the opportunity to sample
many of these great wines.
Consumers can also join the WineStyles Wine Club where each month two
bottles of wine are selected and accompanied by tasting notes and
suggested food pairings. In addition to wine, WineStyles offers a
variety of accessories including customizable gift baskets and many
wine related items.
