Brothers when you sworn me in as President of this great Chapter
in Alpha, I PROMISED you that I would lead us to winning the Georgia District
Chapter of the year and restore our past glory before the end of my Presidency.
I am proud to announce that our COLLECTIVE CHAPTER DREAM was realized on January
10, 2009 at the Georgia District when we were named the 2009 Chapter of the Year for the state of
Georgia. The competition was the steepest in 10 years! All Chapters in the
Georgia are great and now we are the GREATEST!
I want to thank my two Senior Advisors Brothers
James T. Bennett(who nominated me for President) and Brother George Moss who have guided me with
wisdom and direction over this past year and a half. I also want to thank
Brother Greg Bailey for reclaiming me in 2004 during an MLK Parade in dwntn
Stone Mountain. Also, THANK YOU TO EACH COMMITTEE CHAIR FOR ALL OF YOUR HARD
WORK THAT MADE THIS AWARD POSSIBLE! Thank you to each Chapter Brother who has
sacrificed of their time, talent and tithe to make the past year a RESOUNDING
success!!!

Brothers thank you for embracing my leadership style and vision. I
knew that I was the "new kid" on the block when I joined this Chapter
in 2004 and yet you trusted me and gave me a chance. THERE IS NO LIMIT TO WHAT
A MAN CAN ACHIEVE IF HE DOES NOT CARE WHO THE CREDIT GOES TO! It is truly
an honor to serve as your President. Destiny does not come to
those who wait for her, Destiny comes to those who go and meet her! While there have been
moments that I have been tough as a leader, I have always felt that greatness is never
attained by the timid but by the tenacious! Again, thank you for
trusting my leadership and vision!!!!
We must now turn our attention to winning the Alpha South Chapter of
the Year in March right here in our beautiful Atlanta. As you know, Alpha South
is the most competitive region in all of Alpha. Brothers if our Historian calls
upon you, please be ready to serve!
In my last six months as President I will work with the same fire
and fervor that I have always worked with from the first day that I took
office. In the words of Caesar Augustus I will "make haste
slowly" to lead you to more Alpha greatness!
Finally, congrats to Brother Gary Richey who won the Georgia
District's Augustus Witherspoon Leadership Award and Brother Rey Green who won the
Georgia District's Spirit of the Brotherhood Award! WELL DONE BROTHERS!!! Let
us lend our support to Brother Richey as he will compete during the regionals!
Also, congrats to our Mu Alpha Brothers at Emory for bringing home multiple
awards and to my undergrad Chapter Eta Alpha for receiving an award for their
voter's reg work in Augusta, GA!!!!!
